Formazione aziendale in SL (parte 2) - Le aule

CONFERENCE "THE FUTURE IN OUR VIRTUAL" The
conference organized by the Nov. 20 CDTI riprosto of Rome between the various themes, that of corporate training in SL, thanks also the debate that started after the lesson has been in contact simultaneously RL and SL.
I have already had occasion to speak of simulations and I think there is no doubt that the most effective and comprehensive use Second Life for training.
Despite this we have to notice and accept that the representation of SL in a similar situation to the classroom - people who listen un relatore – è di certo la più diffusa.

> easy to use for the participants / students , who need access to materials effortlessly, easily follow the lesson is that in voice chat, in a comfortable
> flexible to adapt to different situations : Lectures, discussion between several people, or less use of multimedia etc..

GENERAL PROVISION
In general layout of the environment, you should include:
> a point of arrival / reception point , where there are information panels (on the single event, other events, sponsors' logos, etc...) The reception is also useful for preventing, at least in part, that people take the LM at the point where there is usually the rapporteur, with the effect then be teleported on or near him during the lesson, with obvious disturbance for the group
> seating objects : is not relevant whether it's chairs, benches, or simply poseball. Rather than ensure that there are different positions or, even better, a script that will allow everyone to choose from a number of different positions. There are also scripts that activate the same object each time you sit a random and different posture, and others set to change the posture after a certain number of seconds. Use Wuest script allows one to avoid the unpleasant effects and artificial that you saw a few dozen avatars all lying in place.
> attention to the position and orientation of the participants cam. Very often you use the classroom as an arena setting, or an auditorium staircases. In this case, the avatars are positioned one behind another, each time going up a step. In these situations, the steps or make avatars complicated the use of CAM, which may be disturbed by the closeness of avatars, or be stuck in the treads.
E 'desirable that when an avatar sits, the cam is free and talk automatically to the point where the speaker. It is up to individuals to decide whether or not the manually operated cam to explore your surroundings.
> sure that in every way everyone can read the chat for all , without forcing to use the "Shout"
> quality and volume of voice depend on many factors (including the fact that someone chooses as a point of listening to the their own avatar or cam). I believe that in a classroom where everyone reads the chat (above) you get good results even with the voice, without any further attentions.

TOOLS classroom
Also with regard to the various tools used in the classroom, the choice varies greatly depending on the context, objectives and ways in which you want to bring the material. I think it is useful to provide:
> a slide projector and video (preferably integrated into a single object, such as the NHT projector, which allows searching for videos on youtube, streaming, and many other features built into a single object)
> distributor of objects, n, lm, web . Depending on the circumstances you can decide whether to make a single object or an object for each type of material to be distributed, or if there are intermediate solutions.
> bin n, in which participants can place your feedback. Particularly are useful items that allow both to obtain the n, which distribute the contents of a single folder. In group work, for example, each part of its contribution in the object and end all, with a single click, I get the folder that collects all the contributions.

OTHER CONSIDERATIONS
> From time to time could help other tool, but depends on the occasion: a panel for questions during book discussions, a panel to do the voting if you propose educational quiz games or so. In any case, they would not keep tools in the classroom, but on occasion rez.
The addition or absence of these other tools can be easier when the space behind oiuttosto teaching is extensive.
> for more flexible classroom assess the possibility of using an automatic rezzer , which already make available 2 or 3 different settings for different types of events, such as:
a) available to arena, with teacher blank area for traditional lectures
b) availability of a table and 4-5 chairs for when you invite more guests to the debates
c) in the case of debate between two people, there may be two objects in the center to seat the 2 Guests facing each other and create 2 small semiarene behind cisacuno to increase the sense of competition.
Some of these indications have been observed in the two classrooms that the architect and builder Arco Rosca has made on my island. You can pay a visit to the Classroom Upsilamba SLURL: http://slurl.com/secondlife/imparafacile/42/198/35/
